I'd have to agree with all the answers, and now I will be singing this song all day. Because I'm easy, easy like Sunday morning. I think I'll make French Toast for everyone, and make their Sunday easy, too.

The meaning of easy like Sunday morning in this song is because he's easy to cheat on his girl! He clearly says in the opening, ''u knw I can't stand the pain, girl IM leaving I, tomorrow.

When it was written Sunday Mornings were more a Day of rest than they are now, in 2007 it's kind of lost it's original meaning

Most people take it easy on Sunday morning, as a rest from having to go to work, whereas some still rush around doing the garden or washing the car. But they probably take that as 'easy' because they choose to do it. As also people who choose to go to church on Sunday morning - for them it is relaxing as they move into a worship mood.

"The song, a slow ballad with country and western roots, expresses a man's feelings as he leaves his lover and ends their relationship. Since the narrator finds the girlfriend to be a bit of a drag, rather than being depressed about the break-up, he states that he is instead "easy like Sunday morning.""

The Commodores did it, Lionel Richie was the singer at the time. The band Faith No More also did a cover of it. The song is "Easy".
