AnswerIn the story Aztec Creation, Nanahuatzin was the first one to jump into the fire because he did not want to let down the other gods, who had earlier encouraged and appreciated him.ExplanationAztec Creation is the mythological story about birth, death, and rebirth. A new sun is born after the sacrifice by the god is made to give rise to a new world. It is the story about the marvel of the five suns that was mainly the birth of the five worlds.Further Explanation Nanahuatzin was the most humble of the gods who had sacrificed himself in fire to continue to shine on Earth as the sun, thus he was the “Sun God”. Nanahuatzin means “full of sores”. He was adopted by Piitzintecuhtli and Xochiquetzal from his real parents Itzpaplotl and Cuzcamiahu. The Aztec tradition believed in many myths about the conception in which Nanahuatzin participated. One of them was to jump into the fire to create the last of the five suns. All the Aztecs preferred Nanahuatzin over Tecuciztecatl. However, the Nanahuatzin was the first one to jump, followed by Tecuciztecatl, a brave eagle and then the jaguar. The gods observed two suns being raised. Tecuciztecatl was dimmed by the gods to be the moon. Nanahuatzin received the blood from the gods to get energy as he was too weak to rush across the sky. This was defined as the new world, the current world.Learn MoreLearn more about the Aztec civilization at: (Answered by Scouteo)Learn more about Nanahuatzin at: (Answered by YellowGold)KeywordsAztec creation, myth, Nanahuatzin, Sun God, new world, current world....
