What is verizon’s “extended 3G”?
I am considering moving to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, but I noticed that the coverage there is listed as "Extended 3G." Can someone explain the difference between Extended 3G and standard 3G? Thank you!

It means u will be roaming on another carrier. Honestly if u move to Alaska ur better off with at&t wireless u may not like the idea buts its the truth . I been to Alaska before my boyfriend has a droid charge , I have att a Samsung infuse. Both worked to call, txt, internet don’t get me wrong but my boyfriends Verizon droid charge was roaming on some other company and they charged him a lot to make calls or send a text because there is NO VERIZON in Alaska. At&t in the other hand HAS coverage in Alaska and they don’t charge nothing extra like Verizon because Alaska is part of at&ts native coverage its like if u were in da states. My boyfriends Verizon Droid charge didn’t say Verizon in the screen anymore in Alaska it say “extended roam” . My att Samsung infuse still said ” at&t wireless” in the screen and also I saw some att stores in Alaska. Again I saw zero Verizon stores. People over there don’t even know what’s Verizon. They only know about att, T-Mobile (cuz t-mobile also works there), some other company alaskacell or something like that I’m not exactly sure whats the name cuz I forgot cuz those are the only companies that have coverage in all of Alaska.
