What time is the “b-shift”?
I recently came across a job advertisement in the newspaper for a position on the B-shift. Could anyone provide information on what time the B-shift typically starts and ends? Thank you!

It depends on the company. At some companies the shift that starts at the beginning of the day, or midnight, is the A-shift and the next shift is the B-shift. At other companies, the shift that works during the business day is the A-shift, and the shift that starts in the afternoon is the B-shift.
And still other companies, the letter also helps to signify which days you’ll have off. One of the companies near me regulary advertises for the F-shift and the H-shift.
Normally b shift is second shift. A= First shift start anytime between 6am-9pm and end between 2pm-5pm B=second shift start time anywhere from 1:30pm-5pm end time 9:30pm- 1:30am c= third start time anywhere from 8pm-11pm. End between 4am-7am. This is common in most places. Sometimes it could also mean what days you have off. It’s always best to call and ask the company what it means.
