what type and caliber is the bullet that i found?
I found a bullet that’s about 2.5 inches long, thin, and pointed. It also has "LC 02" marked on it. What type and caliber could this be, and what does "LC 02" mean? It appears to be made of copper—does that provide any clues?

Too general information. That description fits 10 to 100 cartridges and the numbers are only maker ID numbers and have no bearing on type of cartridge.
It is probably a Lake City Arsenal 5.56 MM military round. But first and foremost, if you are under aged, take the cartridge to an adult, tell them exactly where you found it, and ask them to notify the police.
It doesn’t matter the caliber.
A friend of mine’s grandkid found a single 9MM cartridge lying in an old playground.
The cops and ATF found 200lbs of dope, thirty weapons and over 5,000 rounds of ammunition, all buried.

2002 Lake City either 5.56 (.223) or 7.61X51 (.308).
I’m going to say it’s a 5.56 (.223) since these measure around 2.5 inches and a .308 is slightly longer. The actual projectile should be diameter wise close to that of a .22lr.

It’s from the Federal lake city plant. Probably made in 2002. Although for caliber I could not tell you with such little information. Does it have a cross looking symbol? That would mean it is a 5.56×45, that would be the most likley candidate. Could also be 7.62×51.

Judging by manufacturer (Lake City Army Ammunition Plant) and year it could be 5.56 NATO, 7.62 NATO, .50 BMG or 20mm. Combining the length means it’s 5.56 NATO or 7.62 NATO. If the case is 45mm (1.75″) it is 5.56 NATO (.223 Remington). If it is 51mm (2″) it will be 7.62 NATO (.308 Winchester).

that sounds like a 30.06 (thirty-ot-six) and its quite a powerful round… the “copper” that you speak of is just a coating over the lead slug so that it penetrates the target more properly
i saw a car the other day, it had four wheels and two doors. it looked like it could go fast, but i dunno, cuz it was parked… do you know what kind of car it was?
