Any foreign substance alerts the white blood cells, in the immune system. White blood cells are also called as leucocytes, and help in protecting the body from diseases and foreign substances by destroying them or producing antibodies against them.

The correct answer would be white blood cells.White blood cells (WBC) or leukocytes are the primary cells of the immune system. These cells protect our body from a foreign invader or infectious agent. On the basis of lineage, these cells are mainly of two types:Myeloid cells: monocytes, neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils  Lymphoid cells: B cells, T cells, and natural killer cells.Once an infectious agent enters our body, the immune cells get activated and fight back the infectious agent

The right answer is white blood cells.Leukocytes (white blood cells) are an important link in the protection against infections. Indeed, by acting sequentially, they allow the elimination of many foreign agents among viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. There are two main categories of cells from a functional point of view, the leucocytes of innate immunity and the leucocytes of adaptive immunity, according to the specificity of non-self recognition.
