Where can I use a debit card, without a PIN?

A debit card activates only when a pin is assigned to it. Since you dont yet have the PIN , this means its hasnt been activated anywhere. So you cant use it anywhere, you’ll have to wait for the PIN. Though you can try your luck at restraunts cuz they dont require you to enter PINS.( Just remember to carry cash, you dont wanna end up scrubbing dishes in the hotel’s kitchen)

You can use it online or with phone purchases if the merchant accepts debit cards. If your debit card has a visa or mastercard logo on it, you can use it anywhere that visa or mastercard is accepted. When you swipe your card, select the credit option. Be prepared to show your ID though when you select the credit option and you may be asked to show ID even when using debit option with you PIN.

However, your card more than likely hasn’t been activated as you need your PIN to do so. Its a saftey feature to keep people from getting to your card before you do and emptying out your account. In an effort to protect you and them from having this happen, the banks will send out your PIN seperately (you will usually get it around 4 business days after you’ve received your card) and you will be required to walk into your bank or swipe it at an ATM using your PIN to activate it and if your card isn’t activated, you won’t be able to use it anywhere, online, phone or in person. If you have not received your PIN within 7-10 business days after your card has arrived, call your bank.

Not even your bank can or will ask you for your PIN. If you notice suspicious activity on your account or if you find out someone has gotten a hold of your information or you suspect you are a victim of identity theft, call and report it immediately, to your bank and to the authorities.

Brink your debit card to the bank that you put your money in. show the card but I think no need to enter the PIN. You still can get the money.

Unfortantly all the major stores and shops only take chip and pin or cash. Go into your bank with photographic ID like drivers licence or passport or take in birth certificate and proof of address to withdraw money.

If its chip and pin enabled then I would doubt it – if it has your Dads name on it and you are female then the shop assistant may consider the card stolen if you don’t know the pin

Only places which still use the old fashioned “sign at the bottom of the slip” kind of transaction.

If you need money, go into your local bank branch because you cannot currently use an ATM

Just charge it as credit .. thieves and teenagers love that….

ask the bank people for cash – have ID in case it’s needed
