For the answer to the question above, one of the functions of endoplasmic reticulum within a cell is the facilitation of protein folding and the transport of synthesized proteins in sacs called cisternae. The endoplasmic reticulum contains many ribosomes where proteins are synthesized and this is called the rough endoplasmic reticulum. It is also involved in the packaging of proteins to be transferred out of the cell.I hope this helps

Explanation:Endoplasmic reticulum is one of the cell organelles found in the cytoplasm of the cell. It is an important cell structure. It is made up of folded membranes. In the endoplasmic reticulum protein is synthesized. It helps in the transport of protein molecules to the golgi apparatus. Protein is usually folded in the endoplasmic reticulum.
