Which one is correct: “Is it still opened” or “Is it still open”?

I think the right one is “opened” but I’ve seen it with “open”. My grammar tells me that “Still” is used in Perfect Tenses, that use the verb in its Past Participle form, that’d be “opened” in the case of the verb “open”.Trying to understand it better with an irregulr verb: Is it still written? What do you think?

I think that in this case, rather than being dependent on participle, it depends on the object. For example, if it were a door I’d say “Is it still open?” but if it were a treasure chest I would say “Is it still opened?”. I think opened works if you’re talking about a container.... Show More

Depends on context of the sentence. If it is about a store, it would be is it still open. Opened is a plural as in past tense. I opened the door as he had his hands full. I opened the letter as I was curious to see what was in it. I opened the door to let the dogs out. It is a verb then. I hope this helps. I opened up my book to read. I opened the cupboard to grab a cup.... Show More
