Which one is correct: “Is it still opened” or “Is it still open”?

Which one is correct: “Is it still opened” or “Is it still open”?

I believe the correct phrase is “open,” but I have seen it used as “opened.” My understanding of grammar suggests that “still” is often used in perfect tenses, which require the verb in its past participle form. In this case, that would be “opened” for the verb “open.” To clarify my understanding, I would like to consider an irregular verb: Is it still written? What are your thoughts on this?

I think that in this case, rather than being dependent on participle, it depends on the object. For example, if it were a door I’d say “Is it still open?” but if it were a treasure chest I would say “Is it still opened?”. I think opened works if you’re talking about a container.

Depends on context of the sentence. If it is about a store, it would be is it still open. Opened is a plural as in past tense. I opened the door as he had his hands full. I opened the letter as I was curious to see what was in it. I opened the door to let the dogs out. It is a verb then. I hope this helps. I opened up my book to read. I opened the cupboard to grab a cup.

you set the tense when you used the word “is” that makes it present tense. Opened is past tense. So its not right.

example:

Is it open? (now)

Was it opened? (past)

Will it be opened? (future)
