Which phrase defines “imminent” best?

Which phrase best defines the term "imminent"? Is it: 1) giving satisfaction or pleasure, 2) ending or achieving a final stage, 3) horrified or shamed, or 4) about to happen, impending?

The definition of the word imminent is "about to happen.", or close tohappening. Here's a sentence to demonstrate the definition. "It was thelast day of school and the students knew that the beginning of summerbreak was imminent." Another example would be "The rattlesnake does notalways rattle when the strike is imminent."
