The answer is D. The definition of keystone species is a species on which other species in an ecosystem largely depend, such that if it were removed, the ecosystem would change drastically.

The correct answer is option d. its absence would affect many organism present in the community. The keystone species are the one, who play a very important role in the ecosystem. In case, the keystone species is wiped off from a particular ecosystem, then  the function of the ecosystem would cease and lead to a major effect. Hence, the keystone species is very important for the survival of ecosystem.

D. It has a strong influence on the ecosystem. A keystone species is a non-abundant species in an ecosystem. This species is important for the survival of the other species of the ecosystem. It plays nearly the same role in all the ecological communities that is it maintains the structural and functional integrity of the community. The extinction of a keystone species can lead to the extinction of the numerous other species sustaining in an ecosystem. They can also be predators which can feed upon other species so as to maintain a balance in the ecosystem. Therefore, these have the strong influence in the ecosystem. For example: American alligator: American alligators use their tails to form burrows which allows them to stay warm during winters. But they are also predators, which eat upon other species of fishes and others so as to maintain the balance of nature. Beavers: They make natural dam which provides shelter to may fish species.
(it has strong influence on the ecosystem)Explanation: a keystone species is a type of species which other species in an ecosystem greatly depend on. If a keystone species changes in a certain way, so does the whole ecosystem around that species.

A keystone species plays a unique and crucial role in the functionality of an ecosystem. Without these species, the ecosystem will be different or can even cease to exist altogether.Hence, the correct answer is option 4 - it has a strong influence on the ecosystem.
The answer is D One way to remember this is when you are building a bridge there is one piece right in the middle that keeps the whole thing from collapsing that is called the key-stone. If a keystone species goes extinct then the rest of the ecosystem will crumble around it.
the keystone species in an ecosystem is the species that all other animals rely on . if it were to be removed it would be drastic. so the answer is d.explanation:
DExplanation: key-you need it to open a doorKeystone-u need it for ecosystem

Option D,  it has a strong influence on the ecosystemExplanation:Keystone species are an essential part of an ecosystem and their functions/mark cannot be replaced by any other organism. Once the keystone species is removed from an ecosystem, the ecosystem struggles to sustain  or it changes radically. A keystone species in majority of ecosystems/food web is a predator but this is not true in all ecosystems/or with all keystone species.  For example – there was a trophic cascade when the Gray wolves in the greater Yellowstone ecosystem were removed.
