Option (d) is the correct answer.Explanation:The energy possessed by a system or substance due to the vibrational, potential or kinetic etc energies of molecules of the system is known as thermal energy. On increasing the temperature, the collision between the molecules increases as a result all the energies existing with the molecules also increase. Therefore, the thermal energy will also increase due to increase in temperature. Thus, we can conclude that thermal energy is the energy that is associated with temperature.
