Why is SiH4 non polar?

Why is silane (SiH4) considered a nonpolar molecule? What factors contribute to its nonpolarity, and how does its molecular geometry influence this property?

Silicon (Si) is like carbon (C) forming only four bonds. Because the dipole moments are canceled for the structure SiH4, then it is non-polar. If the molecular formula was written as SiH3Cl, then there would be an unequal sharing of electrons and the molecule would have a dipole moment. Therefore, SiH3Cl would be polar.

SiH4 is non-polar because there is an equal sharing of electrons and the dipole moments are canceled.

The bond between Si and H are polar. However the 3D arrangement of the bonds is such that the dipole moments cancel each other out. The is because the bonds try to arrange themselves farthest from each other to decrease bond electron repulsion. Type tetrahedral molecules into google to see a picture of the 3D arrangement of SiH4

its tetrahedra so upper hydrogens are countered by lower so its non polar
