Why is the US constitution created in 1700 applicable today?
Why is the U.S. Constitution, created in the 1700s, still applicable today? In the 18th century, people primarily used single-shot, bayoneted rifles. I doubt there were mass shootings during that time. My point is, why would anyone need automatic rifles for self-defense in 2021? Has anyone ever successfully used an automatic rifle in a self-defense situation? It seems to me that this raises questions about our current understanding of self-defense in America.
