anyone know what a SKU number is?
I recently ordered some items online and now I want to return them. The return process is asking for the item number. Is that the same as a SKU number? If so, where can I find the SKU number? I would appreciate any guidance, as I’m a bit confused. Thank you!

Hi, Chochoof!
Yeah, the SKU stands for stock-keeping unit. It is the number beneath the bar code.
The bar code is the scanner version of that number.

SKU (stockkeeping unit, sometimes spelled “Sku”) is an identification, usually alphanumeric, of a particular product that allows it to be tracked for inventory purposes. Typically, an SKU (pronounced with the individual letters or as SKYEW) is associated with any purchasable item in a store or catalog. For example, a woman’s blouse of a particular style and size might have an SKU of “3726-8,” meaning “Style 3726, size 8.” The SKU identification for a product may or may not be made visible to a customer. SKU numbers can sometimes be seen in online e-commerce sites.
An SKU is not the same as a product model number from a manufacturer, although the model number could form all or part of the SKU. The SKU is established by the merchant

The sku is a number used to identify the product. It’s like the barcode number or the ISBN number on books. If the program is looking for it and can not find it then I would run a disk checker like the one in Ahead Nero toolkit. This will check the disk for faults. Check for both file and surface faults. If it finds serious faults then return it and obtain a replacement. BTW SKU is short for Stock Keeping Unit

It is usually the item number or the number on the barcode. Look at your receipt or the original packaging.
