You either believe that Jesus’ work on the cross (crucifixion, suffering, and death) was enough (and it was) or you do not believe that and you seek to add works to the mix. Let’s just bear in mind that some of the teachings of Jesus include1) not wearing multiple types of fabric2) not touching a woman or anything she has touched when on her period3) not going to church with injured balls4) allowing abortions of illegitimate children5) forbidding being a wizard6) not eating rabbitsWhich I guess factors in, at least partially, as to why I’m atheistic.I mean, when I was Christian before, no, I wasn’t a perfect Christian- I wasn’t as patient and loving as expected, and nor were the people around me.

If it weren’t enough, we would ALL fall short of his teachings and there would be no hope that we could ever meet Jesus’ level of righteousness. I mean, how many times in a day do we fail and not follow his teachings? I can’t even keep track. I’m not saying that accepting Christ and not following a single one of his teachings means you are saved, but for a person to believe that accepting Christ isn’t enough and not putting ALL of his/her faith that His sacrifice alone is what alleviates him/her from God’s wrath could make his/her salvation questionable as well.

Remove the beam from your own eye before you try to remove the speck from another’s!”So, are you that double-standard hypocrite who points out the same faults that he has?
