Christians what makes you think accepting Jesus without following his teachings is enough?
Christians, what leads you to believe that accepting Jesus without adhering to his teachings is sufficient? How many of you truly practice turning the other cheek? How many of you love your neighbors as you love yourselves?

It is not enough. If we choose not to follow Him, then we cannot have relationship which is our communion with God.
Indeed. Faith without works is useless. You must do good things for others, you must follow the examples set for us. You can’t serve god one day a week and on your knees.
I have observed very little, if any, cheek-turning in R&S, by either pseudo-Christian bigots or pseudo-atheist bigots, (unless you count ****cheeks).
You either believe that Jesus’ work on the cross (crucifixion, suffering, and death) was enough (and it was) or you do not believe that and you seek to add works to the mix. Let’s review what Ephesians 2:8-10 states, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
1. For it is BY GRACE
2. you have been SAVED
3. through FAITH
4. NOT OF YOURSELVES
5. it is the GIFT of God
6. NOT BY WORKS
7. so that no one can BOAST
8. we are God’s handiwork
9. CREATED in Christ Jesus
10. TO DO Good works
11. which God prepared for us to do.
Now, which phrase above tells you that you are saved by doing any good works? Obviously, there is none and just the opposite – GOOD WORKS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH SALVATION.
Let’s just bear in mind that some of the teachings of Jesus include
1) not wearing multiple types of fabric
2) not touching a woman or anything she has touched when on her period
3) not going to church with injured balls
4) allowing abortions of illegitimate children
5) forbidding being a wizard
6) not eating rabbits
Which I guess factors in, at least partially, as to why I’m atheistic.
I mean, when I was Christian before, no, I wasn’t a perfect Christian- I wasn’t as patient and loving as expected, and nor were the people around me.
If it weren’t enough, we would ALL fall short of his teachings and there would be no hope that we could ever meet Jesus’ level of righteousness.
I mean, how many times in a day do we fail and not follow his teachings? I can’t even keep track. I’m not saying that accepting Christ and not following a single one of his teachings means you are saved, but for a person to believe that accepting Christ isn’t enough and not putting ALL of his/her faith that His sacrifice alone is what alleviates him/her from God’s wrath could make his/her salvation questionable as well.
Jesus also said, “You HYPOCRITE! Why do you look at the speck in someone else’s eye, yet ignore the beam in your own eye! Remove the beam from your own eye before you try to remove the speck from another’s!”
So, are you that double-standard hypocrite who points out the same faults that he has? Or didn’t you realize that when you criticize another, you condemn yourself.
