Does ibuprofen stop period?
I have been told by certain OBGYNs that high doses of ibuprofen can stop menstrual flow. However, there are many people and doctors who say the opposite is true. In my experience, it works. They recommend taking 800 mg of ibuprofen every four hours, not exceeding the maximum daily limit, which I believe is around 3000 mg, to potentially stop menstrual flow. I took 800 mg, and it completely stopped the same day. I have also shared this with friends, and it has worked for them as well. Why does this seem to work for some women but not for others?

It can, yes. It’s sometimes prescribed to prevent a hormone called prostagladin from contracting the uterus and stomach lining for people who either get nausea during their periods or have a heavy flow. Sometimes it stops menstruation entirely and sometimes it just makes it lighter or shorter. I’m not positive why, but I would hazard a guess that it has something to do with the amount of prostagladin you naturally produce.
Why do you want to stop your period? And take large amounts of ibuprofen sounds like not a great idea. Why mess around with nature. If your flow is super heavy, going on the Birth Control pill can lighten your flow and regulate you.
