In the film Colombiana, the dogs used were the South African Boerboel and Cane Corso Italiano, while in Turner & Hooch, the dog used was a Dogue de Bordeaux.

The Boerboel is a large dog that is strong, confident, and muscular in appearance, with powerful, free-flowing movement. When observing a Boerboel at play or work, standing or moving, it should exhibit strength, suppleness, nimbleness, and agility.

The Cane Corso is an ancient Italian dog breed developed to guard property and hunt big game, such as wild boar. It is powerful and athletic and is best suited to an experienced owner who has a large, securely fenced yard.

The Dogue de Bordeaux is one of the most ancient French breeds. It is a typical brachycephalic molossoid type. This breed is very powerful, with a muscular body while retaining a harmonious general outline.

Having a trained dog isn’t the same as having a balanced dog, but if your dog knows a few basic commands, it can be helpful when addressing problem behaviors—existing ones or those that may develop in the future. Check out 5 essential commands that you can teach your dog at Cesarsway.com.
