Fac sapias can be translated by phrases such as “Be sure that you are wise” or simply ” Be wise”. Literally the Latin is saying “make it that you are wise”.
The second part of the phrase ~ ” and you will be free”.

Why shouldn’t I believe in Eris? It’s no skin off my back. (I assume you are talking about the goddess of discord and not the dwarf planet). The Bible says there are many gods. Countless gods. It also explains there is little point in worshipping them, and they can even lead us quite far into error. Why would I want to worship the Greek goddess of discord who will never do anything good for me when I can worship the Creator of all things who loves me and leads me to my salvation? You are right, I have never seen a blue whale in the flesh. But I have seen some pretty impressive whales. But you are mistaken in your other examples. Both Jupiter and the Andromeda galaxy are visible to the naked eye in the night skies. You need to get out of the city and take a look at what’s up there, I think.
