Help! What is this quote from:”Crazy! I was crazy once. They put me in a cell with rats. Rats. I hate rats.”

I need help identifying a quote that goes something like this: "Crazy! I was crazy once. They put me in a cell with rats. Rats. I hate rats." While I may not have the quote entirely correct, I would appreciate any assistance you can provide in pinpointing its origin. Thank you!

its a rhyme thing — there are several versions of it — my friends and I used to say it all the time to each other — one would start and the other would reply — what can I say it passed time we also did the "Wanna buy a duck" sequence with each other too — you can read the whole thing here — (of the crazy thing…)

You’re thinking of "Romancing the Stone"

Danny DeVito is talking on the phone to his cousin on his boat in Cartegena complaining about having to chase "joan wilder’ and avoid the cops. It’s hilarious, he’s in the police HQ and hops up on the counter because he see’s his mug shot, rips it and rolls right off. I love that movie!

OH, Or it could be "Jewel of the Nile" either when DeVito springs out of the dumpster to jump Jack or when he ‘saves’ them at the end with the rat eating through the blood drenched ropes. Either way I am SURE it is one or both of these movies.

That is a line from the Three Stooges. a man told them that he was crazy once…then Moe replied, "You’re not cured, yet!"

Crazy? I was crazy once… they put me in a padded cell to die.

Die? When you die, worms crall over you.

Worms? They drive me crazy.
