Rudy Wooten was born on November 13, 1958, in Pinetops, NC. He died on July 12, 2010, due to natural causes.
Rudy Lovell Wooten was the third of five siblings. He and his brothers started a band while living in Hawaii in the mid-60s, led by the oldest brother, Regi.
Rudy started out on the recorder and then quickly moved to the saxophone, where he was prodigious.
