How do you get past the thirsty guards in pokemon red?

If you are playing Red:

Go to the roof of the department store in Celadon City. There, you'll find a vending machine with Fresh Water, Soda Pop, and Lemonade. Buy any one you wish, it doesn't matter, and walk by the guard. He'll somehow know you have the drink, stop you, and take it. He'll drink it up, stop being thirsty, and let you pass as a way of thanking you. He'll share it with the other guards, too, so you only have to give a drink to one.

If you are playing Fire Red:

Go to the mansion or whatever it's called in Celadon City. It's the huge building where you can get Eevee. On the first floor, there's an old lady. Talk to her, and you'll get the item Tea. You can't drink it or use it in any way, or sell it. Take it to any guard you want, and he'll let you pass, and promise to share it with the others, so they will let you through, too.

Good luck, Saffron's where the game starts getting quite a bit harder and more confusing, but it still remains fun!

Pokemon Water Bottle

This is easy. Go to Celadon City and enter the hotel. Talk to the old lady on the 1st floor and she'll give you Tea. Then go to any of the thirsty guards, give him the Tea and he and the other guards will let you pass! Simple To get to Celadon City, go get Flash and go through Rock Tunnel to lavender, than go to the underground passage next to saffron. GOTO THE POKEMART GO TO THE TOP FLOOR THERE WILL BE SOME VENDING MACHINE BUY A WATER THEN GO TO THE GAURD

in celadon city go to the pokemon mansion (it is the same place you get your Eevee once there you will find an old lady she will offer you some nice hot tea. Do not under any circumstance drink this tea, instead give to one of the guards he will let you by. He will also proclaim that this tea is so good that he sharing it with the other guards. there you go! saffron city, here we come!

Pokemon Fire Red Tea

Give him fresh water, not sure if lemonade or soda also works.

Get it at the top of the Celadon market.

You have to go to celedon city(city to the left of saffron city)....there u should find a big shopping mart instead of the usual small ones...go to the top floor(terrace) of this mart and buy a bottle of fresh water from it

go to the city with the grass gym i forgot the name and then you will find an old lady in the building(front entrance) where you'll find eevee... she'll give you tea then go to the guards then you give them the tea

I don't remember but if you get a guide for Fire Red/ Leaf Green it will tell you. Red and Fire Red are the same.
