I think that “I love you too” can be taken two ways. For example, “I love person A, but I love you too”. In that case I think the way to say that in Japanese would be “(boku wa) kimo mo aishiteiru yo”(ぼく は) きみ も あいしている よ“Boku” just means “I”. More casual than “watashi” and almost always used by males. “wa” is just topic marker. It as no real direct translation but is often translated as ” As for ….” “Speaking of …” “Referring to …)“kimi” just means “you”. It indicates a closer relationship than “anata” and is more casual.“mo” is a particle that in this case is replacing the direct object marker “wo”. It has the meaning “also” “too”.“Aishiteiru” is the continuous form of the verb “aisuru”. “Aisuru” means “to love” ,”to care for”, etc. Pretty strong meaning so it’s not usually to say things like ” I love pizza”. Aishiteiru” just implies the continuous state/condition of being in love. Now, if you were trying to say something like ” He loves you but I love you too” then as the other answerer’s said you’d probably say“boku mo kimo wo aishiteimasu.”ぼく も きみ を あいしています“wo” is a direct object marker. It connects objects to transitive verbs. In this case the object of the verb is “kimi”.In the frist example I gave, I think you can drop the “boku “. Since you are the speaker, this is understood so I don’t to literally say it in Japanese. Since you don’t need “boku” you also don’t need the topic marker “wa”In the second example, I don’t think you can drop “boku mo”. The particle “mo” is strongly emphasizing the word “boku”. “I TOO love you!” So, you should keep the “boku”.... Show More
