How much greater than the value of 3x-7 is the value of 3x+5?

Assuming that x is the same value in each equation, 3x+5 will be 12 more than 3x-7.In order to determine the difference between the two values, you ignore the 3x part, because it is the same on both of the equations, and then you count up from -7 to 0, which is 7, and then count from 0 to 5, which is 5; 7+5=12.... I guess you could look at it like this.say x=0 then 3x-7 = -7 and 3x+5 = 5the abs value of -7 is 7 and the abs value of +5 is 5 then the abs value of 3x-7 is 2 greater then the abs value of 3x+5. I think of it like weight which is heavier…. 7>5just one way of looking at it... Show More
