how to find the coterminal angle of a radian?
I need some help with finding the coterminal angles of a given angle in radians. My teacher mentioned that I should leave the answer in radian form, which I believe is expressed as π/x. I thought we were supposed to convert the angle to degrees first and then find both a positive and a negative coterminal angle.
The angles I’m working with are 19 and 9π/220, as well as -7π/6. Could you please help me find one positive angle and one negative angle that are coterminal with the given angles? Thank you!

Hello!
Remember, finding the coterminal angle of an angle in degrees is obtained by adding or subtracting by multiplies of 360. The same concept goes for radians. Since 360 degrees = 2π radians:
9π/2 + 2π
==> 9π/2 + 4π/2
==> 13π/2 would be a positive coterminal angle
To find a negative angle, subtract by 6π radians, to ensure a negative answer:
9π/2 – 6π
==> 9π/2 – 12π/2
==> -3π/2 radians would be a negative coterminal angle
For #20:
-7π/6 is already negative, so we just have to subtract by 2π radians to obtain a negative coterminal angle:
-7π/6 – 2π
==> -7π/6 – 12π/6
==> -19π/6 radians would be a negative coterminal angle
To ensure a positive coterminal angle, we would add by 2π radians:
-7π/6 + 2π
==> -7π/6 + 12π/6
==> 5π/6 radians would be a positive coterminal angle
I hope this helps!
Sincerely,
Mr.Math
In ranges, coterminal angles are 360 deg aside; in radians, they’re 2pi aside. To get one pos and one neg answer, all you may desire to do is upload and subtract 2pi (or 4pi, or 6pi, …) from each and every perspective. (a) 5pi/7 + 2pi 5pi/7 + 14pi/7 19pi/7 <— 5pi/7 – 2pi 5pi/7 – 14pi/7 -9pi/7 <— (b) do the comparable subject; 2pi could be 28pi/14
