i hit a curb and my hubcap now has a small crack in it. What will happen if I don’t replace it?
I hit a curb, and now I have a small crack in what I believe is the hubcap. I'm not very knowledgeable about cars, so I'm not entirely sure if it's the hubcap that cracked. Just to clarify, it's the plastic cover on the outside of the tire. What will happen if I don’t replace it?

Take it off before it flies off and possibly hits someone.
Install new wheel cover.
It won't hurt the car. Depending on the crack, it may not get worse, or it might fit looser and fall off and get lost. I've tried fixing cracked plastic hubcaps with acrylic cement. That doesn't work well on that kind of plastic. The kind of cement used on ABS plumbing pipes is probably better, but be careful to not get it on the part that shows. Cement it from the inside. All hubcaps do is look good. They are decoration. You could take them off and there's nothing wrong with that.
Go to most any tire shop and ask them to look at it.
If it is the hubcap, a small crack usually means nothing, but, it can wobble loose and damage you car, or another one. If it is more serious, like a wheel, then, the shop is the place to get it fixed.
If you go to most Nationwide shops, Firestone, Good Year, Wal Mart, etc. they most likely won't even charge for looking.

The crack will probably grow until one day, when you turn a corner fairly fast, the hubcap will sail off across the road on it's own. At least that's been my experience.
It WILL fly off at 100 MPH and decapitate small school children on their way to school.
Probably not, depending on where the crack is, maybe nothing. If its close to an edge it may end up coming off while you're driving and roll down the road. With it being plastic there will be very minimal chance of damage. If it screws on the the lug nuts then I definitely worry about it
U can take it off, a hubcap is just 4 looks it really has no other purpose
nothing will happen if you don't replace it, a hubcap is just a cosmetic thing.
the crack will slowly grow then possibly grow...it costs very little to replace it
just take it off. it's just a cosmetic thing to cover the ugliness of the black rim underneath, that's it.
