If an apartment says “$700 plus utility”, what does it mean?

I'm looking at apartments online and a lot of them would state the price and then say "plus utilities" or "plus electricity" next to them I'm just wondering, does that mean that utilities are included in the rent or do I have to pay utilities separately? Thanks

Sometimes you may only have to pay for the electricity (and gas if it's in the place). You can call the electric company and water company to find out what the average monthly bill is for the place you're looking i you want to get a better idea of how much it'll cost to live there. Tell them you're thinking of renting the place and want to know what the average monthly bill is.
