In contrast to a Greek temple, Roman temples usually were pseudo-peripteral.Pseudo means 'fake,' and peripteral refers to the fact that a temple is surrounded by columns on each side, which was the case with Greek temples. I believe the correct answer is in contrast to Greektemples, Roman temples usually had columns attached to the walls completely orpartly which makes a pseudo-peripteral structure. Roman temples had a pseudo-peripteral structure rather thanperipteral structure that Greek temples had. The temple of pseudo-peripteralstructure has free standing columns in the front, but the columns along thesides are engaged (attached partly or completely to the wall) in the peripheralwalls of the naos.
