In contrast to a Greek temple, Roman temples usually were pseudo-peripteral.Pseudo means 'fake,' and peripteral refers to the fact that a temple is surrounded by columns on each side, which was the case with Greek temples. Roman temples didn't have columns in the back of the temple, which is why they are known as pseudo-peripteral.

I believe the correct answer is in contrast to Greektemples, Roman temples usually had columns attached to the walls completely orpartly which makes a pseudo-peripteral structure. Roman temples had a pseudo-peripteral structure rather thanperipteral structure that Greek temples had. The temple of pseudo-peripteralstructure has free standing columns in the front, but the columns along thesides are engaged (attached partly or completely to the wall) in the peripheralwalls of the naos. For example, the Temple of Athena Nike and Temple of Venusand Roma have this kind of structure.
