Is 1750 a good SAT score?

"Is a 1750 SAT score considered good? My breakdown is as follows: 510 in Reading, 660 in Math, and 580 in Writing. Additionally, I have a 3.4 GPA. Could this score and GPA qualify me for admission to competitive colleges or open up significant opportunities?"

It’s not great, but not bad either for a first attempt. When I first took the SAT, my score was low in the mid 1600s but then I got the sat guide from TutorFox: http://www.tutorfox.com/satguide.html and my score went up to 2090 (700 math, 760 writing, 630 reading). I highly recommend this guide for anyone wishing to get a higher SAT score. Good luck, and please let me know if you have any more questions.

Not bad, not bad at all!

A 1750 is an above average score by over 250 points, which means that you can contest for an above average competitive university. Depending on where you live, you will most likely get into the top state college, unless you happen to live in North Carolina, Michigan, Virginia, Texas, Washington, or some other state that has a top demand public ivy. If you live in California, try a school like UC Davis or Irvine, or going up the coast, to Oregon, Washington State, or Oregon State. On the east coast you may get into schools like NC State, Maryland, or Florida. Try a lot of state colleges that are strong and affordable! Your GPA is a bit low compared to your SAT score but you can get into quite a few schools. good work!

My son would love to get a 580 on writing!

It seems that maybe you might want to retake to get the Reading score up.

You need to think about where you want to go to college and if you want to apply for merit based scholarships. The 3.4 GPA is good but I think raising your SAT scores will help you. From what I understand you can retake SAT and pick the best set.

2400 is perfect so is that close enough to you? 1750 is good though

that score is okay, but not great. you can get into schools like boston college or boston university.
