"Nursing a beer" refers to the small sips or "pulls" that someone takes when drinking a beer. Often a method of drinking to either make one beer last longer or drink less over the course of an evening.

Here in the U K we say that when some ones to tight to buy a beer they "nurse" it until someones about to buy a round then they drink it so they get asked "do you want another one"

The verb "to nurse" means to take care of, to nurture, to watch over. That is what people who nurse their beers do. Instead of drinking their beer, they take care of it, nurture it, watch over it like a nurse takes care of babies in a nursery.

Just holding it (not really drinking it), letting it get warm in your hands, like a baby, nursing.

It means you don't like beer, you're not drinking much of it........You need to get into mixed drinks instead.....or maybe drinking isn't you're thing.....perhaps it's social pressure, being the reason you're drinking....Or you just have very boring friends........I personally drink mixed drinks, you get ALOT more alcohol for your money and can mix it with whatever you want......

It means you need to put it in a baby's bottle and drink it. It would look more manly than what you are doing.

Here in New Zealand it means you are not drinking very quickly, skipping rounds.
