What is the average density of a pumpkin? Could you provide the answer in grams per cubic centimeter (g/cm³)? Thanks in advance for your help!

As pumpkins vary in size, weight, and volume, the average density is also dependent on the type of pumpkin being measured.
Standard orange (small) pumpkins weigh 2-5 pounds; standard orange (intermediate) pumpkins weigh 8-15 pounds; standard orange (large) pumpkins weigh 15-25 pounds; and Jumbo pumpkins weigh 50-100 pounds or more.
Density is defined as the mass of an object divided by its volume.
Measuring the mass is relatively easy. You can simply place the pumpkin on a weighing scale, which provides a good estimate of the mass.
Measuring the volume is a bit trickier, especially if the pumpkin has an unusual shape. For this, you need a vessel filled with water into which you can drop the pumpkin. The pumpkin displaces its own volume of water when immersed. Multiply the rise in water level by the surface area of the water, and you will have the volume of water displaced.
In the case of floating pumpkins, it is a good approximation that the pumpkin's density is approximately the same as or less than that of water. If the object's density is less than that of water, which is 1,000.00 kg/m³, it will float. If its density is greater than that of water, it will sink.
