Orange toenails after surgery?
My dad had hip surgery about a week ago, and since then, he hasn’t been moving one of his legs much. I’ve noticed that the toenails on that leg are starting to turn a bit orange on the sides. What could be causing this? The toenails on his other leg, which he’s been moving around normally, look fine.

They probably aren’t turning orange, that is residue from a substance called betadine that hospitals use during surgery. His entire leg was covered with it before surgery to keep it clean and prevent infection. What you are seeing is staining from the betadine since it doesn’t wash off of toenails once they are stained with it.
