QUIET GIRL, by Langston Hughes?

I understand that the poem "Quiet Girl" by Langston Hughes portrays the quiet beauty of a girl, but how exactly does it convey that?

Here is the poem:

Quiet Girl
I would liken you
To a night without stars
Were it not for your eyes.
I would liken you
To a sleep without dreams
Were it not for your songs.

What does the phrase "I would liken you" mean in this context?

the title is the girl. I would liken you means she has and there are no stars only her eyes and the way she sings makes for wonderful dreams

You have to open your heart when you read this then you can feel it. To dream is a song of great feeling. Looking into the stars of your eyes. = love to me
