Second Life getting stuck on VFS?
I played Second Life on Tuesday, the same day my internet shut down. Now that my internet is back up and running, I’m having trouble loading “Second Life Viewer 2.” It gets stuck on "Initializing VFS." Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Uninstalled the viewer, restarted my computer, reinstalled it, and restarted again.
- Deleted the viewer folder manually, but that didn’t help.
I’ve also downloaded and tried both the Phoenix viewer and SL Viewer versions 1.23, but I really just want Viewer 2 to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Okay, in the log in screen, go to options and try clearing cache, if that doesn’t work, go to your registry and delete the files there, those actually have your stored preferences over your install, not the “second life” folder. If viewer 2 isnt working for you, you can try download an older version, they’re still available. Phoenix is a 2.0 viewer.
