C. Certain bacteria live within rocks kilometers below the Earth’s surface.Explanation:Bacteria are microscopic, usually single-celled living organisms that can be found in many environments. The live in practically anywhere on the planet because they are able to adapt to environmental changes. Bacteria regulate changes or modifications to their cell envelope in a coordinated way, allowing them to survive in different environments. The main difference between bacteria and other cells is that bacteria are cells that do not contain a nucleus or other membrane-bound organelles. These organisms can live in soil, the ocean and also inside the human gut.  They can be dangerous, for example, when they cause infections they are able to injure different cells and tissues and compromise the immune system. On the other hand, most of the time they are beneficial, as in the process of fermentation such as in wine or yougurt, or helping with the digestion.

Answer; -Superoxide dismutase detoxifies superoxides and converts them into hydrogen peroxide and oxygen. Catalase then converts the hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen.Explanation;-Superoxide dismutase is an enzyme that helps break down potentially harmful oxygen molecules in cells, which might prevent damage to tissues. Superoxide is produced as a by-product of oxygen metabolism and, if not regulated, causes many types of cell damage. Hydrogen peroxide is also damaging and is degraded by other enzymes such as catalase.-Therefore; Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase are enzymes that protect cells from radical attack. Catalase disproportionates hydrogen peroxide, and SOD is an oxidoreductase that serves to dismutate the superoxide anion.

The correct answer is C. Bacteria are the only group of organisms that can fix nitrogen into the soil. This is incorrect because there are eukaryotes that can do that as well. They are however simpler organisms but they can nevertheless do it, meaning that bacteria are not the only ones. Such organisms can be the Archaea.
