Draw the right triangle diagram, and we have the vertical leg of 10 yd (opp. to the given angle) and the horizontal leg of 14 yd (adj. to given angle). Use tangent function to solve that problem.
tan(x) = 10/14
tan(x) = 5/7
x = arctan(5/7)
x ≈ 36°

Can't remember if you use sin, cosine or tangent as haven't done this for years and years.
But if the shadow and the tree were the same length then the angle would be 45Degrees. The further the shadow moves away from the tree the smaller the angle gets,so it can only be 36 or 44.
And as one chap above has said 36 then I believe him.
I'm guessing you need to find the angle of elevation...
If you use tan^-1 (14/10)
You get the answer as 54.
