The markings "GRP 10K" on a ring mean "Gold Rolled Plated 10 karat gold." U.S. karat alloys can be 2.0833 karats lower than stated. This means that gold marked as 10K may range from 7.9167 to 10 karats.
"Gold rolled plated" refers to gold that is permanently bonded over a core of base metal, such as brass, bronze, or sterling silver. The material is then rolled out into sheets, typically with two sheets rolled together to achieve the desired thickness.
The gold content is 5% or 1/20 of the total weight.
Gold rolled plated jewelry will not experience flaking, peeling, or worn spots if cared for properly. It is tarnish-resistant like solid gold and is safe for most people with sensitive skin.
To clean your rolled gold plated jewelry, soak it for a few minutes in a mild liquid jewelry cleaner. Then rinse it thoroughly with water and let it dry.

In gold news, the precious metal recently settled at its lowest price of the year. The dollar's strength is driving gold sales, as investors bet that the Federal Reserve is closer to raising interest rates. For more information, refer to the Wall Street Journal.
