they dont represent any coloreach gang on the west side probably has their own color but the entire west doesnt have a specific color... Show More

For the best answers, search on this site shorturl.im/avrsTNo. They did not have "colors". The story dates back to 1957 and the look of the gang members was intended to be reminiscent of "Rebel Without A Cause". That being said the Jets were Yellow and and Sharks were Blue at least at the lead. You will find it is similar to the later production of "Romeo and Juliet" by Franco Zefferelli. You will also find a similar color scheme between the T Birds and the Sharks. But if you watch the clips it is not a hard and fast rule as a lot of red gets mixed in to represent passion.... Yes. I think the Jets were purple/black and the Sharks were gold/black, but I haven't seen it in a while.... Show More
