What does 5k mean? Like in money.
What does "5k" mean in terms of money? For example, if a guitar is priced at "2k," how much does "k" represent in this context?

2k means 2, 000 because k means a thousand. 2 times 1, 000 is equal to 2 thousand…

Like this guitar is 2k? how much is a k?
1K= 1000 always. Mostly referred to USD.
K in fact stands for KILO primarily. In Metric system Kilo means 1000.
for Example,
1 Kilogram or 1 Kg = 1000 Gram or 1000 g
1 Kilometre or 1 KM = 1000 meters or 1000 M………….. similarly others.
Gradually K came to represent the term 1000.
Just like Y2K means Year 2000 AD.
Even in Computers 1 KB= approximately 1000 Bites (1064 Bytes to be accurate)
A K usually refers to a thousand. 5K equals $5,000. A 5K run is a five kilometre run (5,000 metres).
K means KILO, which is a Greek word and means “Thousand”.
That is why 1 Kilo metre means 1000 metre, 1 Kilo bytes means 1000 bytes, 1 kilo gram means 1000 gram.
