Is it correct to say “most favorite”? For example, “These are my 10 most favorite movies.”?
Is it correct to say "most favorite"? For example, "These are my 10 most favorite movies." I understand that "favorite" is a superlative, so "most favorite" seems incorrect, similar to saying "most best." However, if I am referring to several items within a group, what is the correct way to express that? Should I simply say, "These are my 10 favorite movies"? I would appreciate any sources you can provide. Thank you!

"Most favorite" is incorrect.
It does not matter how many times you find it in Google.
Your instinct is correct: it is an absolute, so "most" would be a redundancy.
You can say "My 10 favorite movies."
While I'm on my English soapbox, a similar mistake people make is "more unique."
Since "unique" means "one of a kind" nothing can be "more unique" or "most unique." It is either unique or it is not.
Also, "more perfect" is incorrect. "Perfect" is another absolute, without comparison. Something can be "more NEARLY perfect" but once it reaches perfection, there is no more.
I've got a million of these.
Common usage may be acceptable, but that does not make it correct.
I notice no one else gave a source, so I put one below. When I ran the sentence "These are my most favorite things." through the checker, it marked "most favorite" as "Qualifying an absolute."
When people say "most favorite" what they really mean is it's my "absolutely favorite" movie. Unfortunately, "absolutely is not as easy to say as "most." By the way, the number of times something appears on Google is an indication of usage, but not necessarily of clear and accurate use of language.

No is incorrect, most liked movies is correct, but favorites is already at maximum.
I changed my mind 2,020,000 occurrences for "most favorite" in Google this means is correct.
Most favourite is incorrect.
You can say: "These are my 10 favourite movies"
or if you really want to emphasize it, maybe "These are my 10 favourite movies of all time"

I'm not positive, but I believe most favorite is not correct because it is repetitive. The term "favorite" already implies that it is the most. It's kind of like saying "most unique," which doesn't make sense, because "unique" implies that it is the most.

Yeah, I feel the same. For me, the single criterion by which I determine a "favorite" album of mine is for the album to be "perfect" from start to end. If an album contains a single meh-ish track, it isn't a top favorite of mine. However, the album doesn't have to consistently blow me away throughout, though as you mentioned, it has to be consistently good. (I'll limit this to one album per artist/band) "Songs In The Key Of Life" - Stevie Wonder "Mona Bone Jakon" - Cat Stevens "Grace" - Jeff Buckley "The Doors" - The Doors "A Love Supreme" - John Coltrane "Highway 61 Revisited" - Bob Dylan "Nebraska" - Bruce Springsteen "At Folsom Prison" - Johnny Cash "Master Of Puppets" - Metallica "Sunrise" - Elvis Presley (compilation)
well, you know it is a superlative, so I am guessing you know that it is an adjective, so it wouldn't be "These are my 10 favorite," it would be "These are my 10 favorite movies," or just "These are my favorite moveis."

I am no language teacher but, I am really good at language. It is correct to say " most favorite". It may sound incorrect, but it is not. But most best is incorrect. if you say this is the most best movie, its wrong. you would say this is the best movie.
