Is it legal to sell/give NON-controlled prescription drugs to someone? (eg: omeprazole)?

If i had some extra omeprazole(prilosec) and i sold or gave it to someone else who had acid reflux, would it be breaking a law? I know it’s sold as an OTC medication so i dont think its prescription only. Is this against the law?I’m just asking out of curiosity, since i have acid reflux so I need it all for myself. But i couldnt help but wonder.

It is not legal. It would be breaking the law.The prescription and OTC versions have different packaging/labeling, and sometimes different dosages. It is not legal to sell or give it without the packaging/labeling required for the OTC version — which the prescription version doesn’t have.The OTC medication is 20 mg per day for 14 days (280 mg total for a course of treatment). Anything over that dose or duration is prescription only.
