"Pass Slowly" is about love, companionship, and death, dedicated to Eugene Welgemoed, the brother of Shaun Morgan, the lead singer and guitarist of the rock band Seether.
Eugene committed suicide in 2007. He jumped from a window on the north side of the Radisson Hotel on Main Street in downtown Rapid City.
Welgemoed was in his 20s and originally from South Africa but had moved to California. According to police, no foul play was suspected in his death. It was ruled a suicide after investigation.
Another Seether song called "Rise Above This" is also a tribute to Eugene.
