D

8.5/4 = 2.125

2.125 x 5 = 10.625 or 10 5/8 inch

Ok, Idk anything about drawings but I do know about common sense and you have to do a process of elimination. The design is already on a card that is 4 in by 5in. So one would assume that the enlargement would be bigger than that since you are enlarging on a bigger piece of paper.

a) Cant be this on because the first option is smaller than the original design.

b) Again, smaller.

c) First dimension is fine but the second is smaller.

d) This is the only one that make any sense.

Hope that helps.

So, you want to enlarge (4 x 5) to smth about (8.5 x 11).

First, the proportions of the widths and lengths are not equal, being 0.8 and about 0.773.

So, it is the small dimension (4) that we can enlarge to the biggest extent,

and 4 will convert to 8.5 in.

In this case, according to the proportion, 5 will convert to 8.5/0.8=10 5/8 in.

8.5/4 = 2.125

11/5 = 2.4

The maximum enlargement that can be made is 2.125x or to dimensions of 2.1254 by 2.1255 or

8.5 x 10.625

It's actually secret answer choice F, 12inches long by 4inches girth.
