Most difficult fabric to dye? Orgo lab?
Which of the following fabrics would be the most difficult to dye: wool, cotton, orlon, dacron, or polypropylene? Additionally, which of these fabrics are likely to absorb dyes in a similar manner?

Depends on the dyes you’re trying to use, and whether it’s a modified fiber or not. Of this bunch, I’d say polypropylene, which is usually mass dyed, but there’s now a version dyeable with disperse dyes.http://www.textileworld.com/Articles/2006/Septembe… — I just haven’t seen any.
For more clues on what will dye with what sorts of dyes, look at the chemical structures. Hint: nylon has a very similar bond to one of the natural fibers that dyes easily.
