Well, if someone is on fire and you " ᴘιss" on them, that puts the fire out. If you need a ᴘιss anyway, ᴘιssing on someone is not such a big sacrifice (in fact, it's worse for the person who gets ᴘιss on!), certainly when compared to having to go get a hosepipe or a bucket of sand so it's like saying "you are worth so little to me that I couldn't even be bothered to do the smallest thing for you if it would save your life".
