“Shag” simply means to get the ball. So say you’re doing a serving drill and your team is lined up all on one endline. After all the balls are served over and you have no more left, she will probably yell, “Shag the balls!”She means to get all the balls and return them to the cart or whatever you use to contain the volleyballs. And note- shagging is done at a run, or at the very least a jog. Many times we’ve had to do punishment drills for walking to shag balls before we learned!
