What does this quote mean? in the poem “ulysses”?

“Tis not too late to seek a newer world./push off,and sitting well in order smite/the sounding furrows…” I’m usually good at this, but I dnt get it.Thanks!!!

Ulysses is aging. Telemachus has come of age. Ulysses is known well of all, and fiercely proud. He trusts that Telemachus will fare well, but truly doubts his wisdom. Ulysses is first of all a sailor. A sailor, of perhaps 40 years, strong, in good health and adventurous. It is the antithesis of Yeat’s Sailing to Byzantium.
