What force is exerted if the spring constant is 160 N/m?

An orthodontic spring, connected between the upper and lower jaws, is adjusted so that it exerts no force when the mouth is open. However, when the patient closes their mouth, the spring compresses by 6.0 mm.

Could someone help me figure this out? I initially thought I had the correct formula based on a similar problem we worked on in class, but after attempting to solve it, I realized the situations aren't the same, and the formula I have doesn't apply. I'm not sure how to approach this. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

There is only one formula for the force on a Hookean spring:

F = k*x

Here, F = 160N/m * 0.0060m = 0.96 N
