What is 101101 (binary code) in text?

In the game Need for Speed: The Run, there is a car called the Binary, which is a Porsche 918 RSR “Signature Edition” vehicle. Its special license plate reads “101101,” which is a binary code. I’ve tried to decode it, but I find it challenging to understand the material. Could someone please explain what this binary code means and how to interpret it? Thank you!

While it is true that 101101 is a legitimate binary number, it is also a legitimate decimal number. And get ready … it s a legitimate number in base 2, 3, 4 ,5 … every base can have a 1 in any position!

101101 is a binary number.

Its decimal equivalent is 45.

The ASCII code for 45 is a hyphen (‘minus’ sign)

I suspect the binary number was chosen because it looks good as a balanced number.

It converts to a minus sign, a so-called dash. Dash, another term for speed. In the game Need for speed. OK.

I just previously learned this in school! It actually means hello in the alphabet.
