What is a 36 throwback in American Football?
In an episode of Friday Night Lights, the term "36 throwback" was mentioned. Can someone explain what a "36 throwback" means in the context of American football? I'm curious about its significance and how it is executed during a game.

Different systems have different play names.
In most systems the 3 back is the fullback and the 6 hole is off right tackle. Throwback could mean a lot of things. My best guess would be that it was some kind of flea-flicker with the fullback pitching the ball back to the quarterback who would then throw a pass to the tight end or a wide-out.

In what context was it said? The first thing that comes to mind for me is a "throwback" jersey. A 36 throwback might refer to the wearing of a jersey from 1936?
It's a reverse where player number 36 fakes an end around and tosses the ball back to the QB.
